Review of Broken Embraces (2009) by Ricardo C — 23 Jul 2011
As with all successful Almodovar movies: unique, refreshing, complex, symbolic, artistic, cerebral, subdued, personal, emotive, mystifying. There's not a boring moment as it's layered to develop its story as according to piquing the audience's interest.
It might get exhaustive and unoriginal seeing the same faces but the actors show some range. I'm still trying to figure out its argument and the anticlimactic open ending doesn't help any.
