Broken Embraces is purely about love. Love affairs and ultimately love for the cinema. There are shots and elements from old classics being put in between scenes. However I enjoyed Almodovar's last movie, Volver better.
Because although I clearly see the passion in Broken Embraces, it sometimes failed to reach out to me.
