Review of Broken Embraces (2009) by Adnan A — 08 Jan 2010
I respect Almodovar's directorial style even though his movies have never really had an impact on me, despite the quality of the stories. This is much of the same; the movie misses that elusive 'wow-factor'.
It's an interesting story that often feels like I'm watching a quality soap opera. The acting by Penelope is very good and she pulls off playing quite a challenging character with ease.
Though Broken Embraces is a quality movie, it's not one I would like to revisit much.
Overall, a good one time watch.
