Broken Embraces is an absolutely beautiful film. Pedro Almodovar's recent films have been more serious in tone and less flamboyant than his eariler works, but they are always visually stunning, full of fascinating characters and splashes of humor.
Penelope Cruz is gorgeous to watch in this film, and the entire cast, featuring many Almodovar regulars, is fantastic. For fans of the 1988 movie Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, this film features a wonderful elaborate inside joke.
