Review of Broken City (2013) by David A — 26 Jan 2013
Quick review: (spoiler alert) In what was to be a dramatic scene, where Walberg is taken off to prison...I burst out laughing and had to apologize.
I really like Marky Mark Walberg but he constantly over reaches in choosing roles. He is Sylvester Stallone but wants to be Leonardo Di Capprio. Broken City is a laundry list of NYC stereotypes with a story that constantly makes you ask... Why is he or she doing that? And say... That just makes no sense. Russell Crow basically plays an older more jaded version of his American Gangster character and Catherine Zeta Jones was forgettable.
I found myself looking for something to keep my interest like the lighting and cinematography. But that too was better in the trailer than in the movie. See Les Mis' or save your money and catch it on TNT in a few years.
