Review of Broken City (2013) by Lane Z — 06 May 2013
Mark Wahlberg decided to start 2013 off with a dark and gritty film about a New York cop turned private eye. The plot is drawn out a tad too long and I felt some of the supporting characters weren't fleshed out enough, but overall it stands as an average thriller more than an action movie.
Wahlberg and Russel Crowe shell out decent performances. Neither are asked to do very much strong acting. If you're into political backstabbing and the dirty underworld of politics and snooping around you'll enjoy some of the twists.
