Review of Broken City (2013) by Ian G — 17 May 2013

An unoriginal if not servicable political thriller focusing on a disgraced cop turned private investigator brought in to supposedly prove an adulturous mayors wife has the tables turned when the case spills over to being really in regards to a huge property deal which is going to line the mayors pockets to the tune of 10s of millions.

A lot of polish but not a lot of spark to make this truely worth watching but enough to make it an escape for two hours, and makes a good comeback notch for both Russell Crowe in his first post Les Miz performance as well as Catherine Zeta Jones as part of a one-two punch along with Side Effects, cracking out a few dramas to come back to being an active presence on the big screen.

Something about Wahlberg in a straight lace drama however still lacks a little something to be desired, almost enjoy him more when he is doing comedies having fun.
