Review of Broken City (2013) by Ryan O — 08 Jul 2013

The latest cop action/drama is mildly entertaining and offers some decent performances from Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg, but there was something that was "off" on this movie. In my mind, it started out rather slow and at times, I found myself to be more confused as to what was really going on.

By the mid-point, the pace of the film picked up a bit and I was getting into it. By the end, however, I just wasn't satisfied. I've seen this movie before and so have you. There wasn't much in regard to surprises or originality - same old story, just different faces.

There are far better police procedurals that take this type of a story and execute it smarter and better.
