Review of Brokedown Palace (1999) by Patrick L — 08 Nov 2012

James Sanford, John J. Puccio and Chuck Rudolph are "offensively stupid" whereas this film is something of a minor discovery. It felt like it was ripped from the headlines but there was nothing to suggest that it was based on a true story, therefore the subjectiveness of it might be what is troubling these alleged movie reviewers? I was more troubled by the depiction of the different cultures in this film but not being overly familiar with Thailand, perhaps there is nothing wrong or overly simplistic in the this film's depiction of the people and their justice system? A fairly well paced film with the somewhat optimistic ending.

I enjoyed it.
