Review of Brokeback Mountain (2005) by Lukev. — 24 Jan 2006
I planned to spend the night after watching Brokeback trying to formulate my opinions of the movie into a clear up or down vote. The thought process took place as I was watching however, I found myself annoyed at the choppy editing, showing 2 or 3 seconds of a certain image as if it was something that was required to be filmed and then moving on to another image without time for reflection.
The whole movie seemed like a search through photographs from a long time ago, the viewer spends only a short while on any one picture and isnt able to really put themselves in the position of any of the people they are seing.
I went into Brokeback ready and willing to be blown away, but when all was said and done this year's "best picture" seemed little more than a second-hand tale.
