Brokeback Mountain is a romance that dares to be something new and true. Some people. critisize the film and call it a "gay cowboy movie," but that is a complete understatement of this genius piece of film making.

Ang Lee directs this with such passion and beauty and he really understands that this is a world in which homosexuals are still frowned upon by many people, so much that some people don't want to admit they are gay.

This film deals with issues like that, mainly from Heath Ledger's character of Ennis. He is deeply disturbed that he is a homosexual because he was always taught that it was wrong, and he won't even admit it to himself.

Jake Gyllenhaal's character hides it as well, but doesn't seem ashamed to openly express this love. Their relationship is beautiful but also deeply troubled because they know it can't work between them in the society they live in.

They get married to woman, but they still have fishing trips which they have often. Sadly some people frown upon this movie because they are homophobic, and I think they are missing out on a great experience.

This movie really deals with an issue that many find controversial, and they handle it with care and beauty. Heath Ledger's perfrmance is riveting with rage and loneliness, he drives the films moral point and is one of the films best aspects.

Jake Gyllenhaal really plays a troubled character, I mean I love how complex this man is with his sexuality and us not knowing if he is homosexual or bisexual, and Gyllenhaal really makes the character his own.

Brokeback Mountain is Ang Lee's best film and a masterpiece in film making, and I feel thay anyone who dislikes this movie for it being about homosexuals is missing out on a fantastic film.
