Review of Broadway Danny Rose (1984) by Augustine H — 31 Jan 2014
"Broadway Danny Rose" is probably Allen's "Little hidden film secret", because it's one of his less known works, mostly because it is quite modest compared to the power houses that precede and follow it.
If you come looking for another astounding production like his more famous films, you might be thrown off base by the unpretentious setting. That however doesn't take away from it being quite a cheerful little film beautifully shot in Black and White.
You may not take anything profound from it, but who ever said you should? That's not what this story is about.
