Review of Broadcast News (1987) by Peter F — 07 Mar 2013
The mid to late 80's James L. Brooks (famously known as the man who gave Matt Groening his first job with a cartoon called The Simpsons) could do no wrong.
Following up the wonderful film terms of endearment he made the equally fantastic Broadcast News which had a bitting look at the Behind the News world with out all the sensationalism.
All the characters in this film although flawed where all interesting to watch, especially Holly Hunter who I was surprised didn't become a bigger star.
The standout is Albert Brooks who went on to do voices in the Simpsons. This is an honest interesting film about real people in an unreal world.
