Review of Bringing Up Baby (1938) by Mateusz Z — 25 Jan 2008
Great fun and a cornerstone of film comedy. Surprisingly modern jokes, great turns from the leads and an original screenplay involving a leopard named "Baby" all make it the classic it is. Of course, watched today, the amount of slapstick comedy, actors talking over each other, as well as the completely screwball ending 15 minutes may annoy audiences, but even in retrospective this movie strongly stands its ground.
Another reason to watch old films.
