Review of Bringing Up Baby (1938) by Bass 9 — 24 Oct 2009
Perfect comedy! and yes we're talking about screwball comedy at its best. Before those 4 guys were stuck with a tiger in "The Hangover" (which is great), Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant had to deal with a missing bone, an angry dog and a tame leopard.
This is the film that defined the archetypes of perky girl discovering the soft side of the uptight man, Katherine Hepburn is charming as heck and Cary Grant... well, he's Cary Grant! This is one of those movies that you see and go "can things go worse?", and yes they can.
Fun, sweet and a must see for a comedy fan! It's great! Thank you Hawks! Also, first movie ever to use gay as a joke itself.
