Review of Bringing Up Baby (1938) by Ashton R — 25 Jan 2008
I never thought I'd find witty banter so exasperating, but this film takes it way over the top. The whole thing is so frenetic, it's hard to actually get into the story and enjoy yourself. Katherine Hepburn was aggravating to watch in all her pseudo-feminism, and Cary Grant's haplessness was at times funny, but got old fast .
A decent film but hard to sit and listen through two hours of back and forth yapping and ridiculous shenanigans.
