Review of Bringing Up Baby (1938) by Ryan H — 05 Feb 2011
It's hard to enjoy a screwball comedy when there is nothing likable about the characters. Cary Grant's spinelessness was more annoying than funny. Katherine Hepburn needed to shut her big mouth.
It seemed like I was watching what I imagine that Sandra Bullock movie All About Steve to be like. Every single moment in the movie could have easily been avoided and the characters weren't the type of people to let them happen.
Everything happens just to keep the movie going. Not the least bit entertaining. I can't explain how badly I wanted out of that theater and how happy I was when it was over.
