Moody and compelling, Scorcese uses a keen retrograde format of his classic modernistic surrealist camera work to make the film's images a resounding imprint in the audience's mind. A somewhat humorous and humanely rigid story, Bringing Out The Dead features both examples of his early work and crosses into new ground with a fresh and original take on the thriller genre.
