Review of Bringing Out the Dead (1999) by Daniel B — 18 Nov 2010
I really did enjoy this. I had viewed the trailer a few months back, so right away I was like " yeah I'll watch it, it looks ok". Well now that having seen it and this being my first review, I am happy to say nothing but good things. Even in the end I felt he was still tortured, I feel like it was meant to stay that way. His healing had begun when the movie ended, and as sick people we only care about the worst for Frank. Martin Scorsese always proves his film making right off the bat.
From the beginning, Everything in frame caught my eye, the colours, the people and the city. I think its impossible for this man to make a bad film about new york, time and time again he shows that thats how he really sees New york city and all that comes with it.
As for Nicholas Cage, I Think this is the only thing I can say I love that he has ever done. His portrayal of Frank shows so much accurate emotions to what you want this character to express so you truly understand that he's either on the brink of giving up or to insane to ever comeback to reality.
I was totally satisfied in what I experienced and felt through the duration of the film. If your thinking about watching it you won't be disappointed.
