A dark and disturbing piece of cinema, the movie opens with a shot of Cage's eyes, a shot similarly done at the beginning of Taxi Driver. This is a precursor to the similarities between both films.
Whilst dark, this film also has some very funny moments, usually revolving around Ving Rhames and the cop with the sunnies. Nicolas Cage is great in this and makes me increasingly baffled as to why he takes movies like Ghost Rider.
