Review of Bringing Out the Dead (1999) by Paul P — 17 Dec 2011
The biggest problem and maybe the only one is the material is so dark and borders on going over the top that you become apathetic to it and you feel a distance between you and the film. All the performances are good, Goodman, Sizemore, Rhames and Cage are great.
Scorsese's direction has insane energy, loved his use of that soft focus. But I really didn't care about a single character in this entire film other than the dispatcher played by Scorsese himself.
