Review of Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974) by E T — 15 Jan 2006
No one can say this movie is for everyone - even more so than other Peckinpah flicks - but this one is strangely beautiful.
It's low-budget, high body count, and rambling times three. Somehow, Warren Oates has the job of getting me to care about this mess, and he does. This is the true anti-hero.
A slew of directors have stolen different ideas and different scenes from this movie, and you can see why by the end. It's the most unsentimental sentimental movie ever made.
