Review of Bring It On Again (2004) by Jeremy B — 18 Sep 2009
Bring it On Again is not as funny as its numerous sequels. It is actually not funny at all, except maybe in the sense that it is supposed to be a movie. The college humor fell flat and did not even deserve groans.
It kind of just dragged on and on, and I kept waiting for it to get interesting. The protagonists are dorky in a charmless way, and the jokes were awkward. There was a lot of boring training with not enough story.
It was so hard to sit through the whole thing. Halfway through the movie, thereâ??s the false hope that it would get better because the protagonists try to make their own cheerleading team; but instead, it just led to more boring training, except even more horrible because the new team is full of weird college kids with no cheer experience.
The only interesting part was the competition at the end where there was actual cheerleading involved, which was noticeably and shamefully absent throughout the whole rest of the movie, which was filled instead of cheering with pure, dull pain for the audience.
This movie must have been made by people that absolutely hated the original movie and wanted to make this first sequel as horribly disastrous as possible.
