What could have been a great example of Brit Noir falls by the wayside principally due to some unbelievably heavy-handed technical metaphors, guaranteed to have even the least sophisticated viewer exclaiming "oh look, even though they're standing next to each other all the light's on her and he's in the dark.
.." The sort of film you could improve yourself given half a day in front of Windows Movie Maker.
