Review of Brighton Rock (2010) by Matt W — 11 May 2012
I found this interesting, virtually because I found that everything felt a little too brief, and after seeing the original film and studying the book, I have certainly noticed some big differences, which I didn't find that affecting, as I don't judge a movie by it's book.
But I did find that Pinkie and Rose almost didn't get enough development, which may have been done to send that particular message across, but it did make me feel a little less for Rose as a character, as I felt she was lacking in screen time.
but I did enjoy it most of the time, although it definitely did drag in places, I think it looked brilliant and was directed beautifully. And it just felt of a good quality, and everything that was done was good, it was just what was missing, the scenes that just weren't there, that needed to be.
The performances were good, and everything was good, but it didn't feel drawn out enough.
