Review of Bright Star (2009) by Paul P — 13 Mar 2010
The film lacks some secondary drama, the last half will feel dull to quite a few. But the relationship between Cornish and Whishaw is so believable and gorgeous to watch that I was swept up in it's beauty, passion and tragic fate.
Beautifully shot with so many breathtaking images. Whishaw and Schneider are very good but they cannot stand up to the magnificent performance of Cornish. The story captures her character at 18 going through a range of emotions that she has never felt in her entire life and Cornish is able to make these emotions come across in a very raw way.
