Review of Bright Star (2009) by Melinda G — 09 Jan 2010
Despite the rave reviews this has received, I did not enjoy this as much as I expected. Costumes were stupendous but I found neither of the main characters very charming. Fanny spends most of her time crying over one thing or another and John Keats takes almost an hour to die.
The quoted poetry is lovely but ultimately the romance was uninspiring.
