Review of Bright Star (2009) by Kobus K — 20 Jan 2010
This is a beautiful, sophisticated film. It is love in its simplistic yet most romantic form in the early 19th century. The three leads are fantastic and play the characters with a gentle grace. Although my familiarity with this period's language and customs is subpar, I felt enriched with the surroundings and felt very moved by the brilliant poetry of the great John Keats.
The music, costumes and cinematography top it all off to create an enthralling period romance drama.
