Review of Bright Star (2009) by Jennifer D — 02 Apr 2010
Keats being one of my absolutely favorite darkling poets, of course I had to see this... and I wasn't disappointed. Best period piece I've seen since Pride and Prejudice. Winshaw's tortured, sickly Keats was just how I had pictured him...sitting in dark parlors scribbling opines.
Winshaw's narration of Ode to a Nightingale over the credits was a brilliant and emotional touch by the director. So glad they didn't botch this up like they did the Austen movie.
