Review of Bright Star (2009) by Betty S — 10 Aug 2010
I liked the modern take on such a traditional time period. Difficult to put how I feel about this film into words. The film was portrayed with much love and care. Great attention to detail. I enjoyed listening to the poetry being recited throughout the film. Abbie's cadence is superb.
What interested me most was the way Fanny's family created space for her to love Keats in a way that was so all consuming. Her poor brother and sister seemed to experience the highs and lows with Fanny.
The most moving part was when she collapsed and said she couldn't breathe. That's why you shouldn't fall in love...
