Review of Bright Star (2009) by Victoria K — 08 Feb 2011
'And watching, with eternal lids apart,' I did as I watched this arcane work of such power it begs serious. serious attention. Jane Campion uses the most beautiful visuals, every second, to match Keat's poetry and it works.
'Bright Star' is a beautiful, romantic, and tragic tale told with almost as much elegance as Keat's poetry.
What I, as a literary nerd, liked a lot about this film is how it shows the competitive and creation parts of poetry. The colliding and befriending of other poets is fascinating.
John Keats would be proud.
