I think it definitely helps if you know about John Keats' poems before you watch this film. When you hear him recite snatches of them, it really enhances your viewing if you have read them before. I am currently studying Keats' work so I really enjoyed it.
I thought it was very well made. Yes it is a bit pedestrian, but that's what life was like back in the early 19th century.
