Review of Bright Future (2003) by Ieda M — 12 Jul 2008
I can't quite explain it, but I felt like I was reading a book and not really watching a movie - this may sound like a bad thing, like the film is way too talkative or expository but it's nothing of that sort, actually it's quite the opposite and I meant as a compliment.
The characters are developed in such subtle, practically invisible way that I could not stop thinking of literature. It has its charms, it's obviously well-written and well-shot, but it also felt too long to me at times.
It's certainly interesting, nonetheless.
