Review of Bright (2017) by Shelaughs M — 01 Mar 2018
Huge disappointment!
There was SO much potential with this fabulous cast but this messy pile of poo is best left scraped off our boots and left by the door.
I am a grown-ass adult and thinking this movie was aimed at the kiddie set I settled in all by myself for some mindless fun.
The 'mindless' set in almost immediately. Unfortunately somebody forgot to pack the 'fun' in among all the crap that hurtled out of the screen.
With Bright presenting itself as holiday fare with orcs, fairies and other fantastic creatures I thought this would pack a hopeful message about acceptance, inclusion and tolerance but no, no, no... all of that was lost with inane manic overkill in violence, raunchy dialogue and a disjointed plot line that seemed to serve only to deliver a boatload of stupid violence and over-the-top gratuitous swearing.
(Will Smith, your grandmother wants to slap you upside the head!).
This could have been an absolutely brilliant movie had it been taken seriously by the director. What a derelict, shameful waste of talent.
