Review of Bright (2017) by M F — 29 Dec 2017
If you're a critic, it looks like you all decided to hate this movie (but you wouldn't be reading my review anyway as I am only a lowly viewer); but if you watch movies for entertainment, you are probably going to love it.
It is a gritty cop "buddy" movie mixed with fantasy characters in a humorously non-traditional portrayal of racial biases and judgement. Along with the vast majority of the public, I thought it was great.
I really don't see why the critics are teaming up to bury this; could be that it portrays some cops as heroes while some of the working class could be villains instead of corporations or the rich.
Maybe it was because it was movie centered around racism but it didn't single out a human race as the evil racists who disadvantaged another race or underprivileged segment of society; instead, it lumped all humans together and focused on the societal view rather than trying to point fingers.
I can't wait for the sequel.
