Review of Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (2009) by Dana A — 28 Mar 2010
We all now men are self-centered pigs but could there be something deeper hidden within...deep down (way down)? This movie tries to explore this through several monologues about relationships, love, jobs and a college paper.
While the plot isn't the strongest and it takes a while to get to the really good monolgues which are given with great emotion(Frankie Faison, Chris Meloni and Dominic Cooper) this is if flawed a pretty entertaining and a great film by first time director John Krasinski.
The film is a slow one, quitely revealing itself but it eventually grows on you and finally cescendoes into Krasinski's moment on the screen, which is pretty damn good and the film with all its actors, sparse plotline finally makes sense and you realize the intelligence and insight in this movie was trying to make the entire time.
