Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Dave G — 22 Jul 2008
Have you ever been tempted by adultery - this is the antidote for a true heart. A mature and excellent story told about wartime friendship that coasts the line directed by the genius, David Lean. Celia Johnson is superb - what an actress! She is so good, you can miss it.
Howard is very good too. Eileen Joyce's version of Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto is perfect.
