Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Jocelyn D — 17 Jan 2009
I finally sat down and watched the whole film - an affair between two married people, doomed to be unhappy. Most of the action occurs at the train station which much chuffing, puffing, clanging, bell ringing, whistle blowing and tea drinking. And if things were too tense, a bit of brandy.
This film is a perfect example of why the rest of the world thinks the British are so up-tight about their emotions.
