Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Neil S — 01 Mar 2010
Having often visited the Carnforth train station where some of the film was shot I have wanted to see this film for a long time.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, with only a handful of characters it allowed the audience to connect with them especially Trevor and Celia. The narrative of the thoughts running through Celias head added alot to the film, despite the bratty 'i want I want' children and the posh London accents this film was great. A love affair that was never allowed to flourish. Things haven't changed much in films today over 60years later. A Classic!
