Review of Bridget Jones's Baby (2016) by Mickey S — 11 Jan 2017
I actually really love Bridget Jone's Diary & have enjoyed the saga that is Bridget Jones. Bridget Jones's Baby wasn't as good as the 1st one but definitely comes pretty close. To me chick flicks are more serious & make you cry, I consider this a rom com which is very different to me, but I can see why guys aren't appealed to this.
There is some girly stuff, cheesy stuff but tons of laughs. I thought all the funny stuff would be in the trailer but nope still plenty of hilarious scenes. Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) is still as adorable & charming as ever.
Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) is still sexy as hell, bringing back his character so well & Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) is a great addition, awesome chemistry between them all! So to make it clear, for this being a "chick flick" it was great.
Great acting, great chemistry, perfect soundtrack, funny moments, story moved along fine & was pretty entertaining. It was fun. If you are a fan of Bridget Jones, you will enjoy this. It's a great end to her saga.
Is it one of my top 10 of the year, no, but judging it to what it was trying to be, they nailed it. Fun girls night out movie. It comes out next month. Check it out.
