The sequel cashes in on the success of the Bridget Jones's Diary (2001). There's very little new in the new film, the plumpy Bridget Jones (Renà (C)e Zellweger) keeps getting in awkward situations (jumps to a pig yard with a parachute, makes a inmate choir in a Thai prison, makes a jealousy scene to a lesbian, etc.
), this time having second thoughts whether Colin Firth was the right choice for a husband. At times, funny, at times humiliating, unrealistic and amateur.
