I took my then 5-year old daughter to what I thought would be a harmless kid film. the story about the kids becoming tight friends was pretty good but having not read the book...the scene when you find out that leslie died had grown adults in the theatre crying their eyes out.

.never saw that two hander to the gut coming!! needless to say dad was a wreck driving home that afternoon, olivia was my rock as she took on a heavy movie at that young age with a maturity that to this very day still inspires me.
