Review of Bridge to Terabithia (2007) by David C — 30 Dec 2013
Missed this when it came out largely because I bought the fairytale/fantasy element in a lot of the promotional material which suggested it wasn't a film for a parent of young boys. I also wasn't aware of the book or the controversy around if from the religious right.
But having watched it on tv whilst ill I found it to be a mature and humane film dealing with difficult issues. A beautiful testament to the power of imagination and friendship in the face of the challenges of life and death.
Some bits seem a little like Kubler -Ross in dramatic form.
