I remember think it was cute pleasure when I first saw it, the ending moved me. However, I now see the ending to be rather contrived, a downbeat ending for the sake of it. I surprisingly found the fantasy elements to be the least interesting in the movie. Zooey Deschanel is, as expected, the most interesting but even her presence and the fine rendition of 'Why Can't We Be Friends?' thrown in, can't save Bridge to Terabithia from being strictly pre-teen fare.
