Review of Bridge of Spies (2015) by Spencer H — 11 Jan 2016
Cold war espionage drama that not only looks and feels 1950s,but also taps into themes from liberal Hollywood classics of that era, such as "High Noon". As usual, Spielberg drains every last drop of sentimentality from a protracted ending, but, otherwise, he proves that, given a script as intelligent as this to work with, he is still up there with the best.
