Review of Bridge of Spies (2015) by Nelson G — 10 Feb 2016

Just finished watching Bridge of Spies. I will say this first. I was curios about this film mostly because it's been while for me since i've Stevans films on the big screen, but sadly I couldn't find the time to see it on the big screen. Well I can tell ya now after Redboxing it, a can say without a doubt that Stevan Spielberg has done it again. Bridge of Spies is one of those films that brings back those old Film making formulas that our parents watched in there days growing up and that makes me very happy to know that Hollywood is bringing that back to the big screens and that's a good thing for film goers who love slowly paced films like most films that were filmed like that back in the old days of cinema. This film like most films that base there stories on real life events aren't always 100% percent accurate. But Steven Spielberg's direction to this film was excellent enough to capture an event that could've been a great disaster for all of us in a dangerous time when two powerful countries almost declared war on each other for many reasons, including the one this film is based on. The performances of both Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance were great and so were the rest of the cast and the filming crew as well. I have to admit, the story of how James B. Donavan(Tom Hanks) went through so much to exchange one american and one British born Russian to be granted a safe trade with out the use of men at arms and that what I mostly admire about the movie. This movie shows us that if the whole exchange went south, we wouldn't be alive today and I wouldn't be writing this if not the brave men and women who fought so hard to keep the world safe from killing each other. I wanna thank both Tom hanks for his portrayal as James B. Donavan and for James by helping both Rudolf Abel and Francis Gary Powers get home safely and granted Frederic Pryers detention release and I wanna thank the people who stood by his side. James B. Donovan is man that I can call A Hero and a terrific human being because of his dedication to the both the Principles to U.S. Constitution and to the words hanks quoted "Everyone deserves a defense, every life matters" and those words are enough to know he was loyal to making sure that no one gets hurt in process of negotiating and I thank I wanna thank him again for continuing his work of saving lives. Bridge of Spies is a film that teaches us the values of how important negotiating can be and can save so many lives evan in a time of crisis, with out the need of violence. Credit goes go to both Matt Charman, Joel Coen & Ethan Coen for there team of the films screenplay. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. Wanna say in some ways it also felt like slight spiritual sequel to Saving Private Ryan and you understand when ya see it, but that's just me. Thank you Steven Speilberg for brining this story to light on the big screen. My rate for this movie is 10/10 A Great Movie in my opinion. Thanks again Steven and God bless you James for everything.
