Review of Bridge of Spies (2015) by Abdulmalik A — 18 Feb 2016

Ok. So. Maybe I missed something. Because this was a really good movie. Not Spielberg's or Hanks' best, but still a really solid movie. But, I don't know if this was Oscar worthy. Maybe it's a personal bias, since I've never been one for Cold War or Spy movies.

But, I can take a step back and say that this is a very well made Cold War spy movie. The scenes that really popped for me were the ones where Hanks' character got to negotiate. The dialogue (and Hanks) were on fire in those.

Mark Rylance was also really impressive. I don't know though. At the end of the day, I think this is a little on the forgettable side, in terms of an Oscar nominee.
