When I saw the commercials for this, I thought it looked very academic and bookish. Even though I'm a historian, sometimes even I wish Spielberg would get off of this history kick and make another spectacular.
But I really enjoyed this. Very interesting, and made me want to know a lot more about the actual history. I love it when films make me run to the internet as soon as the credits roll. John Williams must have been busy scoring "Star Wars," but I really enjoyed the score by Thomas Newman as well.
However - though Mark Rylance was fine and I have not yet seen "Creed," I'm not convinced that Stallone was anything but robbed for Best Supporting Actor.
