Review of Bridge of Spies (2015) by Mike M — 19 Feb 2016
This film is very relevant considering people have been attacking Bernie Sanders and calling him a communist, so this McCarthyism and red scare is very relevant to our times. I enjoyed Hanks' performance as an attorney who wanted the rights of a citizen accused of being a Russian spy as it applies to the constitution.
I don't see why the accused, Mark Rylance, was given an Oscar nod, I didn't see much of any Oscar-worthy performances on his part. I just hope that, when in the time of crisis, people will be like Hanks' character in the film and do the right thing and fight for someone, even if he's against your interests.
that's what America should be about, not divisionary politics and racism.
