Review of Bridesmaids (2011) by Ola G — 30 Sep 2012
Annie (Kristen Wiig), is a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya.
Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go.
For someone you love.
"Bridesmaids" is more or less a female version of "The Hangover" and follows the grossness of the latter movie in several ways. I reckon it´s fair enough to produce a comedy that lets a group of women go down the path we normally see men go and literally vomit, take a dump etc in everyday situations. Being a male, I am not really the targetgroup of this comedy, but I wanted to see "Bridesmaids" due to Kristen Wiig, whom I like. She has a very subtle way of comic acting with a great mimic and physical appearance. And she has the best looking nose in Hollywood! I my case I don´t really appreciate this sort of comedy no matter what, but I reckon there are a bit more serious layers in "Bridesmaids" then in "The Hangover" for example. Which gives "Bridesmaids" a slightly more interesting storyline and movie experience.
Comicwise. But, it is as well a movie I will forget quite easily.
